Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms and conditions carefully as they incorporate the basis upon which bookings are accepted by Citylights Hotel.

 

All bookings made directly or via participating websites or travel agents with the Citylights Hotel are made subject to these terms and conditions, and any particulars not provided for herein shall be governed by laws and regulations, and/or generally accepted practices. The person making the booking will be deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions on behalf of the guest who will be staying. It is the booker’s responsibility to ensure these terms and conditions are passed onto the person or person’s staying. 

 

CITYLIGHTS PERTH PTY LTD, ABN 23 164 951 973 (Citylights Hotel) reserves the right to change and/or modify any of these terms and conditions at any time without notice and such changes will become effective immediately. Please check these terms and conditions periodically for changes.

 

[Definitions: The ‘Hotel’ and ‘We’ means Citylights Hotel. The ‘Çlient’, ‘Guest’ and ‘You’ means the organising person(s) body/company and organiser responsible for booking of and/or payment for the accommodation. ‘Terms’ means these terms and conditions. ‘Booking’ means the booking for accommodation, functions and/or any other services provided by The Hotel. ’Contract’ means the booking and these terms and other terms and conditions stated to apply to the booking.]

 

HOTEL POLICY

 

BOOKINGS & RESERVATIONS:

All bookings at The Hotel are subject to these Terms.

When making a bookings, Citylights Hotel reserves the right to acquire the following personal information relating to the future guest and the booker.
– Guest(s) full name(s)
– Contact number
– Email address
– A valid credit card number to guarantee the reservation (incl. exp, ccv and card holder name)- Booker name & contact number
– Company organisation or government department details 

 

We require valid contact information from the guest making the reservations including first and last name, address, phone number, and signature. The names of all guests occupying the room must be registered. Information regarding your license plate/car description is also gathered at check-in for security.

Your ID may be copied and securely stored as record that we have verified the registered guest. As per our privacy policy, any personal information collected will be securely stored.  

 

CHECK-IN TIME: from 1:00 p.m.

 

EARLY CHECK-IN/PRE-REGISTRATION: Early check-in is possible but subject to availability. If you require a guaranteed early check-in prior to 1 p.m., please contact Front Desk staff directly to make reservations.

 

CHECK-IN REQUIREMENTS: Guests must be at least 18 years of age to check in at Citylights Hotel. During Check-In, we are required to confirm your identity through a valid government issued photo identification (State driver’s license, passport, etc.) for security purpose and prevention of fraud. A valid, signed, and pre-approved credit card in the name of the guest registration is also required. It is your responsibility to fully understand the manner in which your bank processes pre-authorizations and charges to your credit/debit card. Some banks hold pending authorizations for up to 30 business days.

 

SECURITY BOND / PRE-AUTHORIZATION AT CHECK-IN:

For all bookings, we will collect a $100 security bond or Pre-Authorisation of credit/debit card upon check-in, to cover any damage or theft of hotel property that may occur to the room(s) during the occupied dates.

 

A pre-authorisation is a temporary hold of a specific amount of your available credit limit balance placed on your credit/debit card. Pre-authorization is not a charge to your account, it is a hold on those funds. Once your actual charge is posted at check-out it can take anywhere from 24 hours to 30 days for the original pre-authorization to be removed by your bank. Generally, most banks release the hold within 3-5 days. It is your responsibility to be aware of how your bank handles all of your transactions, including pre-authorizations. We are unable to remove pre-authorizations directly through our hotel. A security deposit will be asked regardless of pre-payment.

 

When you provide our reception with your credit card and sign our Registration Form on arrival, you give us your consent to use the card as guarantee of the full payment of your stay. In case you leave the hotel without checking out at our reception, we retain the right to charge your credit card for the total balance of your invoice.

 

A full inspection of all rooms will be conducted by hotel management after each guest departs to determine if there is any damage or theft. Excessive cleaning charges may also be taken out of the bond if deemed necessary by hotel management. The bond refund will be processed 24 Hours within the final guests departs and any outstanding amounts owing are paid in full.

We may pre-authorise a credit card for any charges we deem appropriate for the length of stay. Please ensure you have sufficient funds to cover additional incidentals for this purpose.

 

GUARANTEED RESERVATIONS: All reservations must be guaranteed with a valid major credit card. Guests must be 18 years and older. We accept Visa and Master Card only. We will charge your credit card at the time you make your reservations. Please make sure to receive a reservation confirmation number when you make a reservation

 

CHECK-OUT TIME: 10:00 a.m., unless a later check out is agreed in writing at the time of your booking. Check-out after this time can be requested subject to availability and will be charged at an hourly rate of at the discretion of the Hotel.

 

CHECK-OUT PROCEDURE: Check-out time is 10:00 a.m. Please check-out with Front Desk so that housekeeping may begin cleaning your room as soon as possible. If you require a later check-out, please contact Front Desk prior to the day of your departure and we will do our best to accommodate your request. A charge may apply for late check-out.

Any outstanding charges must be paid for in full on check-out from the Hotel. If the outstanding charges do not exceed the authorisation taken on check-in, the authorisation for the amount not utilised will be released. However, we cannot control how long it takes for your bank to effect such release. If staying for multiple nights at the Hotel we may require you to make payment for any outstanding charges on a more frequent basis during your stay.

 

PAYMENT: All reservations and registration must be guaranteed with a valid major credit card. We accept Visa and Master Card only. Pursuant to credit card agreements, credit cards are not valid unless signed by the cardholder. Credit cards must be signed. Cash (AUD) payment is welcomed with a signed and pre-authorized credit card. All guests are required to present a valid major credit card and government issued photo identification even if guests are planning on paying in cash upon check-out. Checks and foreign currency not accepted.

All payment card data that we process, store or transmit adheres to the Data Security Standards as defined by the Payment Card Industry.

 

CHECKS AND CHECK CASHING: We do not accept checks. We do not provide check cashing services.

 

RESERVATION AND PAYMENT FOR GUESTS BY PRIVATE THIRD PARTIES: Generally, third party payment is not permitted. In the case of paying for a family member if you will not be physically present at the hotel, we require prior completion and approval of a Credit Card Authorization form including a copy of your driver’s license and the front and back of your signed credit card. You will be responsible for any and all damages and loss. We reserve the right to refuse reservation at any time for any reason.

 

RATES: All rates are quoted in AUD currency, inclusive of GST. Rates may increase without notice. Rates as advertised on Citylights Hotel website or any other website or promotional material are subject to change at any time and may increase or decrease at the hotel’s discretion.

 

RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE & EVICTION: Citylights Hotel is privately owned and operated. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason(s) that does not violate Federal or State laws. Citylights Hotel has a zero tolerance policy in which we will refuse to admit or refuse service or accommodation in our hotel or may remove a person, without refund, who refuses to abide by the reasonable standards and policies established by the Federal or State Law and the owners for the operation and management of the hotel.

Citylights Hotel may refuse service and evict a guest or visitors without warning. Guests who are evicted from a hotel will be blacklisted and we may choose to notify the police. A guest is subject to such eviction should the following (but not limited to) occur;

  • Intoxication and unsavoury behaviour
  • Overcrowding – causes or permits persons to exceed the maximum allowable occupancy of room
  • Physical or verbal assault towards hotel representatives, residents or other guests
  • Destroys, damages, defaces, or threatens harm to hotel property or guests
  • Any incident for which the police need to be called onto the premises
  • Any behaviour posing a safety threat to others
  • Ignoring advice to reduce excessive noise (music or other noise)
  • Throwing of objects over the suite balconies or from windows
  • Smoking within the rooms (a cleaning and deodorizing fine will also apply)
  • Refuses to abide by the reasonable standards or policies established by Citylights Hotel for the operation and management of our hotel.

 

CANCELLATION: Citylights Hotel is not responsible for weather conditions, personal emergencies, or schedule changes. Reservations must be cancelled twenty four hours (24 hours) hotel time, prior to your arrival, in order to avoid a one (1) night full room cancellation fee. If reservations are cancelled less than 24 hours before the arrival date, your credit card may be charged the full room charge plus taxes. If you are staying more than one (1) night, only the first night and taxes will be charged. If you cancel any reservation, you must obtain and save the cancellation receipts for your records.

Cancellation conditions may vary; please check your reservation confirmation.

 

NO SHOW CHARGES: Failure to check in on the scheduled arrival date for a reservation guaranteed with a credit card will result in a No-Show fee being charged to your credit card. You will only be charged the first night, one (1) night’s full room rate plus taxes and the balance of the reservation will be cancelled.

 

DAMAGE POLICY

 

DAMAGE AND/OR THEFT OF HOTEL PROPERTY: You are liable for any damage caused (whether by the deliberant, negligence, or reckless act to the room (s), hotel’s premises or property caused by you or any person in your party whether or not staying at the hotel during your stay. Citylights Hotel reserves the right to retain your credit card and/or debit card details as presented at registration and charge the credit/debit card in such amounts as it shall in its sole discretion deem necessary to compensate or make good the cost or expenses incurred or suffered by Citylights Hotel as a result of the aforesaid. Should this damage come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right and you hereby authorize us to charge your credit or debit card for any damage incurred to your room or the Hotel property during your stay, including and without limitation for all property damage, missing or damaged items, smoking fee, cleaning fee, guest compensation, etc. We will make every effort to rectify any damage internally prior to contracting specialist to make the repairs, and therefore will make every effort to keep any costs that the guest would incur to a minimum.

 

DAMAGE DISCOVERED AFTER CHECK-OUT: Guest Rooms found with waste scattered around, in complete disorder, and/or “trashed” will be subject to a A$500.00 maintenance deep cleaning fee, administration fee and/or third-party fees.

 

DAMAGE TO ROOM: Damage to rooms, fixtures, furnishing and equipment including the removal of electronic equipment, towels, artwork, etc. will be charged at 100% of full and new replacement value plus any shipping and handling charges. Any damage to hotel property, whether accidental or willful, is the responsibility of the registered guest for each particular room. Any costs associated with repairs and/or replacement will be charged to the credit card of the registered guest. In extreme cases, criminal charges will be pursued.

 

DAMAGE TO MATTRESSES AND BEDDING: Damage to mattresses and linen including; towels, mattress pads, sheets, bedspreads, blankets resulting from the use of body oils, make-up, shoe-polish, etc. will result in a charge for the special cleaning, repair or replacement of the damaged article.

 

DAMAGE OR TAMPERING WITH CCTV AND FIRE DETECTION SYSTEMS/FIRE-FIGHTING EQUIPMENT: Citylights Hotel reserve the right to take action against any guest or visitor found to have tampered or interfered with any detection and surveillance equipment throughout the hotel, including CCTV, detector heads in public areas, guest rooms, break glass points and fire extinguishers. Guests or visitors found to have tampered with any of these equipment will be charged with any costs incurred by the hotel due to their actions and will be evicted from the hotel. Depending on the severity of the guest actions, law enforcement may become involved at the hotel’s discretion. Should the fact that these equipment had been tampered with come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right and you hereby authorize us to charge your pre-authorised credit or debit card for any damage incurred to your room or the Hotel property during your stay, including and without limitation for all property damage, missing or damaged items, smoking fee, cleaning fee, guest compensation, etc.

 

THEFT, LOSS OF OR DAMAGES TO GUESTS’ PROPERTY:

We respectfully remind you that any items brought into the Hotel, its car parks or grounds including valuables and all personal belongings, are brought in at your own risk. The Hotel shall not be held responsible for the damage or loss of any property owned by the guest or anyone connected to the guest’s event/stay at the Hotel, whether the items were left before, during or following the stay/function.

 

Through the use of CCTV and appropriate security measures the Hotel seeks to minimise the opportunity for the theft of or loss of guests’ property. However, subject to the paragraphs below, you should use your own insurance policies to claim the full amount of any loss or damage to your property prior to approaching or pursuing Citylights Hotel.

 

Under the Liquor Control Act 1988, Division 5 – Lodgers, Clause 107:

 

A licensee is not liable, beyond such amount as may be prescribed, to a lodger for loss of or damage to the property of the lodger while the property is on the licensed premises, or premises to which section 105(3) applies, unless — (a) the property was lost or damaged due to the wilful act, default or neglect of the licensee or a person in the employment of the licensee; or (b) the property was entrusted to the licensee expressly for safekeeping and the lodger complied with the requirements of the licensee with respect to safekeeping; or (c) the licensee did not, at the time the lodger brought the property onto the licensed premises, have displayed, in a manner easily visible to potential lodgers, a notice indicating that liability for loss or damage to the property of a lodger may be limited to the prescribed amount.

 

However, in those circumstances, we are only liable up to the maximum sums as prescribed by the Hotel Policy, that is $300.00.

 

In the unlikely event that an incident occurs during your stay, resulting in the theft, loss or damage of your property, we will carry out an internal investigation. If we do not feel that your property was stolen, lost or damaged through any fault of ours, our staff or agents, this will be evidence that it wasn’t our fault. In those circumstances, our liability is limited to the maximums under the Liquor Control Act 1988, Division 5 – Lodgers, Clause 107. If an incident is referred to the Police and they draw the same conclusion as us, this will also be evidence that our liability is limited to those maximums. We shall not be liable, in any circumstances, for any loss or damage to vehicles you bring to the hotel or any property left in them. Neither shall we be liable for any loss of profit, or any indirect or consequential loss arising under or in connection with your Booking.

 

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY:

Citylights Hotel buildings are secure environments and we do everything possible to ensure security levels are maintained, and we ask that our guests do also. However, Citylights Hotel takes no responsibility for any personal possessions that are lost, stolen or misplaced whilst on the premises.

 

The Hotel will not be liable for any indirect, consequential or pure economic loss or any loss of profit, goodwill or opportunity (whether caused by the negligence of the Hotel, its employees, contractor or agents or otherwise). The Hotel’s total liability shall not exceed the value of the charges received by it under the Contract.

 

Nothing contained in the Contract or in any other document referred to or incorporated in it shall be read or construed as excluding any liability for death or personal injury caused by the Hotel’s negligence or liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

The Hotel accepts no liability and will not pay any compensation where the performance of its obligations is prevented or affected directly or indirectly by or as a result of force majeure or any circumstances beyond its reasonable control including, but not limited to, flood, earthquake, extreme adverse weather conditions, natural disasters, other acts of God, acts of terrorism, fire or failure of electric power, gas, water, or other utility service, plant machinery, computers, vehicles or any collapse of building structures.

 

HOUSE RULES & CODE OF CONDUCT

 

100% SMOKE-FREE: Citylights Hotel is a 100% Smoke-Free hotel. For safety and to assure that our facility is not exposed to items or actions that create an odor which is unhealthy and objectionable to our guests and staff, and that is difficult to remove from the air, carpet, walls, and furniture we do not permit smoking tobacco, marijuana, illegal drugs, e-cigarettes, vape pens, vaping, cartridges containing the liquid of nicotine, hookahs, incense, cooking, cigars, candle burning, the use or diffusing of patchouli oil or other strong-smelling plant-based essential oils or synthetic products in our facility.

 

Guests are encouraged to notify Front Desk staff immediately if they smell cigarette, marijuana, or other objectionable odors. This policy is not intended to stop people from smoking, but to regulate where they smoke and how it affects others. Marijuana is prohibited at all times.

 

A $250.00 cleaning fee will be charged to any guest who violates the smoking policy.

 

EMERGENCY SERVICE FEE:The registered guest agrees to pay any Emergency Service Callout Fee charged for false alarms. This includes circumstances relating to smoking and cooking inside the room where the smoke alarm is triggered.

 

ROOM: It is not allowed to move or to remove furniture. Not in the room, or between rooms. It is also not allowed to move or remove the decoration or electrical appliances, or use them for personal purposes other than for which they are intended. Our staff will put everything back in its original place, and possible damage will be charged on your credit card.

 

BICYCLES/HOVER BOARDS/ROLLER BLADES: Bicycles, Hover boards, and roller blades are not permitted in guest rooms and will be removed by our staff. Depending on available space, Front Desk staff will be happy to secure these items in our mechanical room. We assume no liability for theft, loss, and/or damage, and you waive any and all such liability.

 

CHILDREN: Well behaved children of all ages are welcomed. Children aged 12 and under stay for free when sharing a room with one or more paying adult(s). An extra charge will be applied. As the parents, guardians, or chaperones of children you are personally and legally responsible for and must supervise them at all times. For safety reasons, please do not leave children unattended in guest rooms or allow them to roam the hotel property unsupervised.

 

QUIET HOURS: 10:00 p.m. to 9 a.m. If you become aware of a disruptive guest, please contact Front Desk staff immediately by room phone or in person. Televisions, voices, or other devices must be kept at a respectful low level at all times. Doors should be opened and closed quietly. No congregating or running in halls or lobby.

 

VISITORS: Visitors must be accompanied by the registered guest at all times. Visitors are not allowed to use guest amenities. As a registered guest, you are responsible for your visitor at all times.

 

DO-NOT DISTURB AND ACCESS TO ROOMS: To provide all of our guests with an exceptionally clean and safe hotel experience, we reserve the right to enter your guestroom for reasonable purposes, such as for housekeeping, maintenance, verify that the room, its furnishings, and mechanical equipment are intact, or to address or prevent a violation of our Hotel Policy/House Rules. Hotel staff will normally knock and announce themselves before entering your guestroom, unless we believe that exigent circumstances exist. Please contact Front Desk if you are a “Day Sleeper” or you are staying in the room due to illness. Management reserves the right to enter a room with a known status of “Do Not Disturb” in the event of an emergency, suspected illegal activity taking place, disturbing other guests, or damage being done to hotel property. In the event of suspected illegal activity, management reserves the right to summon law enforcement to aid in eviction. The right to privacy ends when a Hotel Policy/House Rule is broken. Law enforcement will be granted immediate access.

 

PETS NOT ALLOWED: Pets are not allowed in the hotel. In case of violation, we reserve the right to charge a surcharge of $250.00. You will also be asked to remove your pet from our hotel. Of course, assistance dogs are welcome to our entire building. There is no surcharge.

 

NO IN-ROOM PARTY: Citylights Hotel enforces a No In-Room Party Policy to ensure we can protect the hotel and our guests at all times. No parties, loud disturbances and/or noise-nuisance are allowed or tolerated on these premises. In the event of a disturbance, one polite request (warning) will be given to reduce the noise. If our request is not followed, the guest will be asked to leave the hotel without refund. Registered guest(s) is responsible for all persons visiting. Non-Registered visitors are only permitted until 10:00 P.M. If found with more “people” not listed on the Guest Registration Form after 10:00 P.M. your stay will be considered a party. You will be ordered to vacate the premises without refund.

 

PARKING AT OWN RISK: All vehicle(s) must be listed on the registration at check-in. Parking for registered guest(s) is charged. All vehicles are parked at the risk of the owner. The Plaza Hotel shall not assume liability or responsibility for any vehicle, occupants, or contents while operated or parked on the hotel property. If a vehicle is left in the hotel parking lot after the guest has departed without the written consent of the hotel, the hotel reserves the right to have the vehicle towed at the owner’s expense. No vehicle repairs on hotel premises. Extra charges apply.

 

HOUSEKEEPING/ROOM INSPECTION: Housekeeping is provided daily between the hours of 9 a.m.- 1 p.m. This is a 100 % NON-SMOKING hotel, including medical marijuana. Rooms are cleaned and inspected daily and a detailed log is maintained on each room and linen. Rooms are rented to guests in appropriate condition without any prohibited odor. Housekeeping and Front Desk staff are trained and skilled in identifying the odors from prohibited items. If our investigation concludes that you have smoked in your room, cooked, or brought a prohibited item into our facility, you will be fined, and evicted without any refund.

 

LINEN CHANGING: Your comfort is very important to us. For guests staying multiples nights, bed linen is changed on a rotation schedule. Used towels are exchanged for fresh towels daily. If Housekeeping is unable to change a bed due to personal items left on a bed, a note will be left. Housekeeping will be happy to change your bed linens and make your beds each day if all personal items are removed. Please contact our Front Desk staff if you have any additional questions or concerns.

 

SPECIAL REQUESTS: We will make every effort to honor special requests such as a specific floor or room number, roll-away beds, refrigerator/microwaves, etc. upon your arrival. All special requests are noted on reservations and we will do our best to accommodate. However, the availability of these items cannot be guaranteed in advance.

 

DISCLOSURE 
We do our best to ensure reservation arrangements are satisfactory, however, Citylights Hotel does not accept any liability for any loss financial or otherwise, travel delay, injury, damage, additional expenses or inconvenience caused directly or indirectly by any events which are beyond our control. These include, but not limited to, flight delays or cancellations, civil disturbance, defects in vehicles, strikes, theft, acts of terrorism, natural disaster, war, fire, floods, acts of God, acts of Government or of any other authorities, changes to Government regulations, accident to or failure of machinery or equipment, maintenance requirements or industrial action.
